CNC bending machine
Sheet metal bends when the press brake applies pressure between two tools: the upper tool (called the punch) and the bottom tool (called the V-die)
The press brake controls the movement of the punch or die and uses hydraulic rams or electric servo motors to provide pressure. The bending angle is mainly determined by the penetration depth of the punch in the V-die
Air Bending (Three Point Bending):Only the upper two corners of the V-die contact the material, the inner radius of the bend depends on the width of the V-die opening, not the radius of the punch
Embossed or Bottom Curved:The material is in contact with the entire inner surface of the V-die and the punch tip creates a curved inner radius. Requires more force compared to air bending
